Getting it together: my first post
I don’t plan to ever type at length in these, just a bit of reflection. A true blog detailing all sorts of things. Well with that said I began this site a good while ago. I created it on a whim the domain was cheap and I like the name. I had several ideas I wanted to make come to fruition. I had always been told even in college, “you have got to have a portfolio site”. That never really appealed to me though so I always put it off and brushed it off as something to do later. I was finally inspired through a desire to make little custom games for me and my friends, things id like to play. The simple addictive kind.
Well I bought the site on google domain, then proceeded to do nothing with it for over a year. I mean, I did upload a cool picture or two I made on Midjourney. I kept saying, “oh this would be a good idea for my site”. Along with breakthroughs in AI development of my own skills and understanding. I finally started to actually work on some of the ideas I had. Always making small Apps. That was fun albeit they were no where near as addicting as I wanted them to be. From modified snake game where you have to solve problems by getting the correct answer to a solution to my ATTEMPT at making an imessage game (currently a failure, but we will fix that eventually). All leading to today, well yesterday when I finally finished what I would consider my best project yet. Current working title “Auto DM” Link What I consider to be my best “completed” game so far. Even with AI and “Vibe” coding it was a project that taught me a lot. I will save all the details of it for another post. But I realized something I was aware of but really just hit home. Making things to run on your local computer is WAYYYYY different than making it for online.
Anyways if you have read all this, Thank you. Hopefully the next post isn’t too far out! I mean I should probably explain my process and what I learned and what I would do differently now, Oh and of course what I plan to do with it later. To future people reading this again thank you, whether you are family or friends I wanted to make stuff to play with, future potential employers poking around if i’m a good match (I definitely am, hire me and pay big bucks please!) or people who just stumbled across this and thought you’d poke around read and try stuff. I sincerely mean it when I say, I appreciate the time you have taken to check it out to play around with stuff even for a minute. I do build stuff for fun, but I also build and share as my way to connect. So even when you don’t like it, play it one time just to appease my nagging, or genuinely enjoyed it. I’m just happy you were willing to check out something I made.
Have a lovely day!
